Lionscreed Welcomes Mertzx to the Lions Clash Team

Following the success of the first Lions Clash tournament, Lionscreed is pleased to welcome Mertz to the team! Mertzx ran our first Lions Clash tournament alongside the Lionscreed Events Manager, Oscar. Together, they were able to make the tournament an incredible success.

Crowing the University of Birmingham as the inaugural winner of Lions Clash was only the beginning. Thanks to our team’s enthusiasm and our community’s support, we can confirm that Lions Clash will return soon with a new cohort of student teams ready to battle for the title! Registration of interest for institutions is already open.

Looking Forward to the Next Lions Clash

In true Lionscreed fashion, we want to ensure that the next Lions Clash is even bigger and better than the last. Welcoming Mertzx to the Lionscreed team is integral to reaching this goal. Oscar explains why he was selected to join the team to further this project:

“Mertzx has always been a strong character and an amazing referee. He will be a crucial piece to elevating our productions in Lions Clash and other events to come – You guys will be seeing a lot more of him as the forward-facing referee and coordinator!”

Lionscreed is particularly grateful for the insight Mertzx can provide in improving Lions Clash. He will be working under Events Manager Oscar and COO Dale to assist in coordinating and running this project. As a university student at City University London, he is familiar with the benefits providing student tournaments can bring:

“It’s great to join the team as an event coordinator, and I’m super excited to continue working on Lions Clash projects. As a university student, I am really happy to see that I am able to provide high-level competition at a collegiate level for my fellow students.”

We recognise the value of student experience and are excited to continue our journey of supporting student esports communities with Mertzx.

Lions Clash will be returning soon!

Institutions can now register their interest in the next Lions Clash tournament. Lions Clash allows students to compete against other student teams – from academies, colleges, and universities – to unseat the current champions, the University of Birmingham. Games are professionally broadcast by Lionscreed, giving students new experiences within the esports space.

More information concerning the next Lions Clash tournament will be released soon! In the meantime, make sure your institution has registered interest at https://forms.gle/bimXvE9fPN5gsbPv6
