Lionscreed Announces Lions Clash – A New Proving Ground
Lionscreed is launching a new UK-based Valorant tournament geared towards university and college students between the 1st of February and the 22nd of March 2023.

Lionscreed is proud to announce a new Valorant tournament open to university and college students across the UK.
Lions Clash will have 12 teams, four groups, two finalists, and only one winner. ESI Next Gen will power the LAN finals on the 22nd of March 2023, where prizes from HyperX, Glytch, and Alta Foods are up for grabs.
Valorant, the tactical 5v5 shooter game, is highly popular among the student population in the UK, with several universities and colleges already competing at a high level. Lions Clash will showcase the incredible talent in the UK student population while providing exciting opportunities across the esports industry.
On the 1st of February 2023, Lions Clash play-ins will commence in a best-of-three format for all four groups. Best-of-three playoffs during week five of the tournament (beginning on the 28th of February) will determine our finalists that will show down in a best-of-five at ESI Next Gen.
The following universities and colleges have qualified for Lions Clash and will be available to watch on a UK-wide professional broadcast:

Each team will have five players, two subs, and one coach. Both players and fans will be rewarded for their engagements with the tournament through RKDE, helping further the ecosystem and developing from the event.
Teams will be supported by Lionscreed throughout the tournament, and Lions Clash will provide the following to the student esports community:
Lions Clash presents valuable experiences and opportunities for students directly, including opportunities to gain work experience within esports organizations via our Buddy System. Students seeking specific experience within esports organizations are partnered with individuals working in Lionscreed within this system, giving them unique insights into the industry. Roles such as management, broadcasting, and production have all been offered for work experience. Students will gain a well-rounded and comprehensive understanding of how the esports industry functions. Opportunities are also available to learn about brand relations and partnerships. A true insight into the industry is crucial to career progression in esports, and Lionscreed is committed to helping provide these experiences.
